Biography

Jerry “DJ J-MO” Moore was born and raised in Houston, Texas and developed a love for music at an early age. J-MO was just 5 years old when he started recording songs off the radio to make a compilation of his favorite songs as a training method for his expert mixing. Inspired by the likes of Gerald Sampson, Mr. Mo Skillz, DJ Juiz, Egypt E of the Terrorist, Darryl Scott and Dj Screw to name a few, J-MO is determined to leave his mark in hip hop.

“MY MUSIC IS LAID BACK, FUN, INTRIGUING AND THOUGHT PROVOKING. IT WILL MAKE YOU DANCE, TAP YOUR FEET AND MAKE YOU THINK DEPENDING ON WHAT TYPE OF SONG I’M MAKING. I MAKE DIFFERENT TYPE OF SONGS THAT WILL APPEAL TO PEOPLE IN MANY WAYS. IF YOU LOVE MUSIC IN GENERAL THEN YOU WILL LOVE MY MUSIC.”

J-MO first inched his way onto the hip-hop scene with the grass-roots approach of club gigs and creating mix-tapes. As he continues to grow his brand, he has been collaborating with various local artists from Houston and the South Texas region on his upcoming projects. He is currently dropping a new single, “Don’t Feed Tha Animals” featuring Mr. F.A.M.E, Paco Dondada & Big Omega. He is also planning on dropping an unreleased song soon called, “I’m Here” featuring AB Dvinci & AReckless, two artists from Corpus Christi, Texas. A remix of “I’m Here” should appear on the upcoming EP, not yet titled, J-MO is planning on dropping early 2018.

“OVER THE YEARS I KEPT ACCUMULATING BETTER DJ EQUIPMENT AND MAKING MIX TAPES. I DJ’ED FOR ALL ABOUT OUR GRIND IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS BEFORE I MOVED BACK TO HOUSTON IN 2014. I WANT TO TAKE MY CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL AS AN ARTIST BY RELEASING MUSIC. HAVING THE ABILITY TO PUT CONCEPTS YOU HAVE IN YOUR HEAD AND GENERATING THEM INTO A SONG AND VIDEO IS A GIFT IF YOU CAN DO IT AND A BLESSING IF YOU HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DO IT. I WANT TO PAINT A PICTURE, TELL STORIES THROUGH MY MUSIC.”

DJ J-Mo has wowed the music industry with his flawless turntable skills, innovative production, and musical versatility. His passion for music shines through in everything he does. His love for and careful nurturing of his immense talents has enabled him to represent hip-hop with class, individuality, and high intensity. He states, “Hip hop itself has fought its own battles of survival and my music transports that energy over to my listeners. True music lovers and hip hop heads will feel where I’m coming from because of the passion I have for what I’m doing. In other words, if you love hip hop then you will love my music!”

What city and state am I from?

Houston, Texas

What are my songs about?

My songs tell stories about everyday life events. I come up with ideas and concepts for songs just thinking about how life is. Sometimes I sit and wonder how certain things in life work and why people perceive things in a certain way. I then take the concept of my thoughts and apply it to my songs. My music seeks to make one think about things from another prospective.

What makes me stand out from other artists?

In my view, it’s what I bring to the table. I have been listening to music practically all my life. My knowledge spans over four decades and being able to see how music has transformed over that time. I definitely try to incorporate ideas from certain time periods in music history.

My music will be available on iTunes and Apple Music. It will be available at other digital stores such as Spotify, YouTube Art Tracks, Amazon Music, Google Play, Napster,Tidal, GraceNote, Shazam and more. If it passes the criteria I expect it to be available on heart radio and Pandora radio.
